That Are Ruining Your Results…
Too Fast Or Too Slow Of Repetitions
There are three “toning phases†for every one repetition…
A repetition is the complete movement of an exercise from start to finish— like a down and up on a squat or push up.
Not to get too “sciencyâ€â€¦
Here’s how each of the three toning phases work in a rep…
Part one of the movement is called the eccentric contraction. This is the lowering of your body during a squat.
The middle part of the movement is called a static contraction… which is the slight pause at the bottom of the squat. Some people mistakenly skip this toning phase altogether.
And the last part of a movement is called the concentric contraction… which is when you return to the starting position of the squat.
Most people perform their repetitions too fast, trying to finish their reps as quickly as possible… but this is killing your results… (9)
By not giving your muscles the stimulus they need to tone…
Yet you don’t want to go too slow either… because if you perform your repetitions too slow it’s actually WORSE for shaping lean muscle than going too fast. (10)
