Why you suck at ClickBank

ClickBank is a goldmine if you know what you are doing - unfortunately too many people think they can just throw up some weebly 2.0 websites, spam the hell out of them with GSA Search engine ranker and then sit back and make millions.

If it was that easy we would all be doing it!

Research - it’s all about research

One of the biggest problems is that people need to do their research before promoting ClickBank products and pay particular attention to information in the ClickBank Marketplace.

Look at the affiliate referral rate - what percentage is it? I always try to go for affiliate referral rate of at least 80 percent - this means that 80 percent of sales are being made by affiliates like you which means affiliates are making sales.

Take a look at the gravity over time - is it going up or down and more importantly find a website that shows a graph of the history of a vendor. Draw a line between the start and end points of the graph and see if it's increasing - a simple concept but too many people miss doing this basic step.

ClickBank Gravity

About gravity - this is the quote from ClickBank themselves

"ClickBank uses a measure called 'gravity' to represent how well each product sells, based on how many sales have been made and how recent these sales were. We recommend focusing on products with a gravity of 30+, because these products have a proven track record of selling well for a number of different affiliates."

Again, too many people put an emphasis on ClickBank Gravity; a product with high ClickBank Gravity obviously sells but can also mean that a vendor is oversaturated e.g. Too many people are promoting the product and it may be near impossible to rank for the vendor easily.

Instead look for websites that offer more information about how a product is performing - if you have a paid membership to cbengine then it's under the menu link "the cbinsider", alternatively qlickbank.com has the momentum page which uses the same algorithms as the stock market to predict products that are more likely to sell - these pages change daily so keep checking back to keep ahead of others

Keyword research - this topic has been covered extensively elsewhere so there’s no point in me covering it here other than saying this: Leverage an existing SEO website such as http://tunemy.website to spider the main page of the offer you would like to promote.

Once the results come back scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the “Show / Hide Test results” link - this will expand the results for the associated page.

From these results you can see the meta tag title, description and keywords (Where available) but also more importantly http://tunemy.website also extracts and displays the main Header tags used throughout the page - use these tags as the basis for long tail keyword research or even as long tail keywords

Type your phrases / keywords into Google adwords

As previously mentioned I won’t go into this too much as there is plenty of existing information on proper Keyword Research but always use some tool to see the search competition for your keywords. It’s pointless ranking for keywords that no-one searches for and likewise you may find that some of your keywords have insane competition.

Finally, type your phrases / keywords into Google itself and see what comes up - if the top results are a single youtube video and some spammed ftp sites (see below) then bingo - these will probably be very easy to outrank.

Oh - one last thing; PDF sites work well - create a PDF file of the offer, embed your affiliate link, upload that to a PDF hosting website and then create links to the PDF website, nice and easy, people will download your PDF file and then may well share it all the while your affiliate link stays inside the PDF file :)

What PDF sites should you use? Well let me help you with that
